Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajeev Gupta (Chief Justice),

High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur

                                               

   

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Rajeev Gupta :- Born at Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh on 10-10-1950. Took B.A and LL.B Degrees from Jiwaji University, Gwalior. Started practice in Madhya Pradesh High Court from November 1973 and continued till 1994. Appointed as Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court in September 1994. Assumed charge as Chief Justice of Kerala High Court on 27-04-2005 . Transferred to High Court of Uttarakhand at Nainital and assumed charge on 14/01/2006 as Chief Justice. Transferred to Chhattisgarh High Court on 02/02/2008 as Chief Justice. He took oath on 02-02-2008 as Chief Justice of High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur. Due to retire on 10-10-2012.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Dhirendra Mishra


            Hon'ble Shri Justice – Dhirendra Mishra assumed charge of the office of the Hon’ble Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur in the forenoon of 1st December 2004.

Hon'ble Shri Justice – Dhirendra Mishra was born on 24th April, 1949 at Village Limha of District Bilaspur in the family of freedom fighter. His uncle late Dr. Jwala Prasad Mishra was renowned freedom fighter of the area. Father late Shri Radhe Shyam Mishra and uncle late Shri R.K. Mishra were advocates. Uncle late Shri R.K. Mishra was an advocate of high standing and he was known for his integrity, he served the State as Govt. Advocate continuously for 20 years.

Hon'ble Shri Justice – Dhirendra Mishra became Graduate in Civil Engineering from Govt. Engineering College, Jabalpur. After engineering education, he  joined the Govt. service for a brief period.

After resigning the Govt. service in 1974, He established an Agro Service Centre and was involved in social service activities in villages.

In the meanwhile, He did the law in the year 1981 from Chhattisgarh Law College, Raipur and started practice firstly at Mungeli and thereafter at Bilaspur.

After formation of the new State in the year 2000, He joined the High Court Bard, represented SECL, MPSRTC, CMPDIL, Railways, NTPC in the High Court. He Was appointed as member of the advisory board constituted under National Security Act.

Also He served as a member of National Consumer Protection Council formed under Consumer Protection Act and member of the Regional Committee of Food Corporation of India.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Sunil Kumar Sinha

Hon'ble Shri Justice – Sunil Kumar Sinha assumed charge of the office of the Hon’ble Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur in the forenoon of 1st December 2004.

Hon'ble Shri Justice – Sunil Kumar Sinha was born in a lawyers family at Ambikapur (C.G.) on 07/07/1954. He got school education in Govt. Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, Ambikapur. He took his B.Sc. Degree from Govt. Post Graduate College, Ambikpur in the year 1973 and thereafter also took Masters Degree in Botany from the same Institution, in the year 1975. He did his LL.B. in the year 1980 from Govt. Post Graduate College Ambikapur and was placed in first division. He was enrolled as an advocate in the State Bar Council of M.P. on 03/09/1980. He started his practice in the District and Sessions Court at Ambikapur, under the guidance of his father, Late S.P. Sinha, Advocate, who was en eminent lawyer of Civil, Criminal and Revenue side. His uncle Shri V.P. Sinha, Advocate is also practicing in the Distt. and Session court, Ambikapur. He was a Govt. Advocate for a very long period. His younger brother Shri Ravi Sinha is practicing in the Distt. and Sessions Court, Ambikapur.

He has worked in all branches in the Trial Court at Ambikapur from 1980 to 1993. There after he shifted to the High Court of M.P. at Jabalpur where he practiced till October 2000. There also he did practice in Civil, Criminal and Constitutional side. Further he  practiced in the State Administrative Tribunal at Jablalpur and handled many cases of different nature.

After re-organization of the state of M.P. he shifted to High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur in the month of November 2000. Here he practiced in various branches of law.

He was appointed as Additional Advocate General of Chhattisgarh in May 2003, which post he held till, February 2004. He thereafter started private practice till his elevation as Judge of this High Court.

Hon'ble Shri Justice Satish K. Agnihotri

Hon'ble Shri JusticeSatish K. Agnihotri assumed charge of the office of the Hon'ble Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur  on 5th.May,2005.
            Born on 1st July, 1956 in Village Patehara, District Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh. Having completed Graduation in Science and Post Graduation in History from A. P. S. University, Rewa, Shifted to Delhi to obtain Bachelor of Law Degree from Delhi University in the year 1982. Enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi in August 1982 and commenced practice of legal profession.
            He was appointed as Standing Counsel (Civil) of State of Madhya Pradesh in October, 1988 in the Supreme Court of India and continued as such till the date of elevation i.e. 5th  May, 2005 to the High Court of Chhattisgarh as Additional Judge thereafter confirmed as Judge. Apart from appearing for the state of Madhya  Pradesh, appeared for M.P. State Electricity Board, Delhi Transco Ltd., Gujarat State Electricity Board, various corporations and authorities in the Supreme Court, High Court of Delhi and other High Courts. Has an opportunity to appear in the important cases in Constitutional Law, Taxation, Service Law, Writ Petitions etc. Participated in Arbitration. Some of the leading cases are Presidential reference on Dissolution of legislative Assemblies, Abolition of State Administrative Tribunal, River Water Dispute, T.N. Godavarman (Forest matters), Child Labourers Case, All India Judges Case etc.
            He has attended and delivered lectures in SAARC  LAW Conference in 1996 at Dhaka, Bangladesh;  the Biennial LAWASIA  Conference in 1997 at Manila, Phillippines; the Biennial LAWASIA Conference in 1999 at Seoul, Korea and UIA Conference held at New Delhi. Travelled Europe, America and Far East countries.

                                                       Hon'ble Mr. Justice T.P.Sharma

Born on 19th June, 1953, he completed his Higher Secondary Education from Government Multipurpose School at Raipur and then he obtained Bachelor Degree in science from the Science College Raipur in the year 1973. Later he obtained Law Graduation in the year 1976 with 7th position in the merit list. He got National Scholarship award in the year 1976-77. Then he joined Bar in the year 1976 and practiced at Civil Court Raipur.  There after he got selected as a Civil Judge Class II in the year 1977. He was promoted to Higher Judicial Service in the year 1991. He served as Legal Remembrance-Cum-Principal Secretary to the department of Law & Legislative Affairs, Government of Chhattisgarh. He elevated as Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur and took oath on dated 11.01.2008.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Nawal Kishore Agarwal

 


 

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Nawal Kishore Agarwal assumed charge of the office of the Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur on 31st March, 2009. He was born on 24th July, 1952 at Bahror, Rajasthan. His father name is Late Shri Babulal Agarwal and mother Smt. Angoori Devi. He is having at present 2 brothers and 4 sisters.  He did B.sc. (Maths) in 1971 from C.M.D. College, Bilaspur, M.A. (Economics) in 1974 from C.M.D. College, Bilaspur and L.L.B  in 1977 from M.E.S. College, Bilaspur (all the then affiliated to Ravishankar University, Raipur).

He was enrolled as Advocate on dated 18/03/1979 (CG/185/1979/ Adv.) and practiced in District Court, Bilaspur, and High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur and later on designated as Senior Advocate (CG/08/2005/SEN/ Adv.). He is having 30 years experience of practice and was Legal Advisor to New India Assurance Co. Ltd., National Insurance Co. Ltd., State Bank of India, Canara Bank and Chhattisgarh Kshetriya Gramin Bank.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Pritinker Diwaker

 

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Pritinker Diwaker was born on 22.11.1961 at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. His father late Dr. S.C.Diwaker was a prominent educationist, follower of Gandhian ideology and well known social figure of Jabalpur. Apart from being a sports-loving man, Hon’ble Justice Diwaker has throughout been a merit scholar. He did his graduation in 1981 from Rani Durgawati University,Jabalpur and completed LLB from the same university in the year 1984.

He started his career as an advocate in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh in the year 1984 from the office of Hon’ble Mr. Justice D.M.Dharmadhikari (Retired Judge of the Supreme Court of India). During his legal career he dealt with constitutional, civil and criminal matters. He had been the Standing Counsel for Steel Authority of India Limited, State Bank of India, Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank, Bank of Baroda, IDBI, Madhya Pradesh State Financial Corporation, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Raipur Dugdh Sangh, Central Board of Secondary Education and several other municipal corporations. In 1992, he also represented the State Government of Madhya Pradesh as Government Advocate. He was designated as Senior Advocate by High Court of Chhattisgarh in January 2005. He was a member of Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council for seven years and that of State Bar Council of Chhattisgarh for five years.

He assumed the office of Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court on 31st March 2009.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rangnath Chandrakar


Honorable Justice Mr. R.N. Chandrakar assumed charge of the office of the Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur on 31st March, 2009. He was born on 5th August 1952 at Village Mokhala a small village in District Raipur, Chhattisgarh in religious agriculturist family. His Father’s name is Late Shri Leeladhar Chandrakar. Youngest among four brothers, elder brothers are settled as Advocate, Educationist and Forest Office. He did his schooling from Village Mokhala, Bhilai in District Raipur, and graduation in B.A. from Mahasamund in the year 1972 and LLB from S.K.T. Dabke Law College, Raipur in the year 1975. He has been awarded National Scholarship for higher studies in law but not availed, practiced at Raipur till July 1978. He was selected as Civil Judge & joined judicial service in the state of M.P. on 09/08/1978 and worked at various stations as Civil Judge Class-II and Class-I. He was posted as Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sagar (M.P.) in the year 1989 and later on promoted in the higher judicial service and posted as Additional District Judge Satna, Sohagpur & Khairagarh. Further awarded selection grade and super time scale grade and worked as Chairman District Consumer Forum Rewa, Special Judge SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities Act), District & Sessions Judge Durg (twice) and Bilaspur. He worked as Registrar Vigilance in the High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur. At the time of elevation to Judge High Court of Chhattisgarh, he was holding the office of District & Sessions Judge, Durg.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajeshwar Lal Jhanwar 

Hon’ble Justice Mr. Rajeshwar Lal Jhanwar assumed charge of the office of the Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur on 31st March, 2009. He was born on 6th July 1949 at Akalthara. His father Late Shri Chhagan Lal Jhanwar was a business man. He did his schooling from Akalthara Higher Secondary School in first division, graduation in B.Com from S.B.R. College Bilaspur and P.G. studies in M.Com from C.M.D. College Bilaspur. Further he got LLB degree from N.E.S. Law College, Bilaspur during year 1974. He enrolled as an Advocate in the State Bar Council, Madhya Pradesh and practiced at Bilaspur during the year 1975 to 1978, then appointed as Civil Judge Class-II during the year 1978 and posted at Raigarh then after posted at Durg & Bemethara. Further promoted as Civil Judge Class-I and posted at Raipur and again at Kawardha. Got promoted as C.J.M. during the year 1989 and posted at Seoni and again at Ambikapur, He was promoted as Additional District Judge during the year 1991 and posted at Bhopal and after that Raipur, Raigarh, Seohara (Jabalpur). There after promoted as President District Consumer Forum and posted at Bhopal. After separation of Chhattisgarh state he was posted at Bilaspur as President District Forum, after that promoted as District Judge during the year 2003 and posted at Jagdalpur. Then transferred to State Transport Appellate Tribunal. He was transferred to High Court, Bilaspur as Registrar Vigilance (Inspection & Enquiry) and then District Court Bilaspur as District & Sessions Judge. Again transferred to State Transport Appellate Tribunal, Raipur and then elevated to High Court.

                                                   Born on August 29, 1964 at Raigarh (Chhattisgarh). Took B.Sc. and LL.B Degrees from Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh).  Enrolled as an Advocate on September 4, 1987. Practiced law in District Court at Raigarh, High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur and High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur and dealt with Civil, Criminal and Writ branches of law. Was designated as Senior Advocate by High Court of Chhattisgarh in January, 2005. Had been chairman of Chhattisgarh State Bar Council for a period of 21/2  years. Was appointed/co-opted Member of the Rule Making Committee of High Court of Chhattisgarh. Had been Chancellor’s Nominee in the Executive Council of Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur. Was associated with Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) as its Ex-Officio Member in the Executive Council. Served as Additional Advocate General for the state of Chhattisgarh from June 26, 2004 to August 31, 2007 and thereafter as Advocate General for the State from September 1, 2007 till elevation. Elevated as a Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh on December 10, 2009.
