Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi (Chief Justice)

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi (born on November 12, 1957), was elevated as an Additional Judge of Patna High Court on 9th October 2006 and took oath as a Permanent Judge of the High Court on 21st November 2007. He graduated in Economics (Hons.) from the reputed Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) and studied law at Campus Law Centre, Delhi University. He enrolled at Patna High Court in the year 1981 and practiced primarily in the areas of Service law, Constitutional law, Taxation, Excise and other commercial litigations. Prior to his elevation Justice Tripathi had held the office of Standing Counsel for the Union of India and the Income Tax Department. He appeared as a special counsel for the CBI and the Auditor and Comptroller General of India. He also represented many Public Sector Undertakings.He has appeared in many important cases of the day which made headlines at the state and national level.

Justice Tripathi served as an Additional Advocate General for the State of Bihar and represented the High Court in its litigations. He was Vice President of the Patna High Court Bar Association in the year 1998. He has been actively involved in bringing quality legal education to state of Bihar and contributed significantly in setting up of the Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) at Patna. He is presently a member of the General and Academic Council of the University. Justice Tripathi is also a member of General Council of National Law School Bangaluru. Justice Tripathi was in the Board of Directors of the Bihar Judicial Academy and Chairman of Bihar State Legal Service Authority when tele-law services was launched in the state of Bihar. Only 2nd State to do so in the country.

He was sworn in as Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court on 07.07.2018.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Pritinker Diwaker :-

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Pritinker Diwaker was born on 22.11.1961 at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. His father late Dr. S.C.Diwaker was a prominent educationist, follower of Gandhian ideology and well known social figure of Jabalpur. Apart from being a sports-loving man, Hon'ble Justice Diwaker has throughout been a merit scholar. He did his graduation in 1981 from Rani Durgawati University,Jabalpur and completed LLB from the same university in the year 1984.

He started his career as an advocate in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh in the year 1984 from the office of Hon'ble Mr. Justice D.M.Dharmadhikari (Retired Judge of the Supreme Court of India) and thereafter also worked with Hon'ble Shri Justice Ajit Singh. During his legal career he dealt with constitutional, civil and criminal matters. He had been the Standing Counsel for Steel Authority of India Limited, State Bank of India, Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank, Bank of Baroda, IDBI, Madhya Pradesh State Financial Corporation, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Raipur Dugdh Sangh, Central Board of Secondary Education and several other municipal corporations. In 1992, he also represented the State Government of Madhya Pradesh as Government Advocate. He was designated as Senior Advocate by High Court of Chhattisgarh in January 2005. He was a member of Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council for seven years and that of State Bar Council of Chhattisgarh for five years.

He assumed the office of Judge of the Chhattisgarh High Court on 31st March 2009.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra :-

Born on August 29, 1964 at Raigarh (Chhattisgarh). Took B.Sc. and LL.B Degrees from Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh). Enrolled as an Advocate on September 4, 1987. Practiced law in District Court at Raigarh, High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur and High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur and dealt with Civil, Criminal and Writ branches of law. Was designated as Senior Advocate by High Court of Chhattisgarh in January, 2005. Had been chairman of Chhattisgarh State Bar Council for a period of 2\BD years. Was appointed/co-opted Member of the Rule Making Committee of High Court of Chhattisgarh. Had been Chancellor's Nominee in the Executive Council of Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur. Was associated with Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (Chhattisgarh) as its Ex-Officio Member in the Executive Council. Served as Additional Advocate General for the state of Chhattisgarh from June 26, 2004 to August 31, 2007 and thereafter as Advocate General for the State from September 1, 2007 till elevation. Elevated as a Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh on December 10, 2009.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava :-

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava was born on 6th March, 1964 at Bilaspur. Did his schooling at Bilaspur, graduation (B.Sc.) from CMD College , Bilaspur and LL.B. with gold medal from K R Law College, Bilaspur. Was member of Board of Studies and Academic Council, Guru Ghasidas University , Bilaspur. Enrolled with the Bar Council of M.P., Jabalpur , on 05-10-1987 and practiced at District Court, Raigarh, High Court. Was Standing Counsel for Department of Income-tax, Muncipal Council, Raipur and Chhattisgarh State Electricity Organisations, Corporations etc. and is associated with Rotary International. Designated as Senior Advocate on 31-01-2005 and elevated as Judge of Chhattisgarh High Court on 10-12-2009 .

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Goutam Bhaduri :-

Born on 10th November, 1962 in the family of prominent lawyers S.K. Bhaduri (father) and P. Bhaduri (grand father). Did primary and middle schooling in Bengali Kalibadi School, Raipur and thereafter completed secondary education from St. Paul Higher Secondary, School, Raipur. Took B.Com., and LL.B degrees from Ravi Shankar University, Raipur. Recipient of gold medal in L.LB. Was associated with the Society which runs 3 colleges at Raipur namely Durga College, Vivekanand College and Law College founded by his grand father. Was also member of the Educational Society and also Regional Societies. Joined the law practice in the year 1985. Practiced law in various subordinate courts within the jurisdiction of Chhattisgarh and the erstwhile State of Madhya Pradesh as also High Court. Shifted to Bilaspur in the year 2000. Worked as Government Advocate and thereafter promoted as Deputy Advocate General in the office of Advocate General, Bilaspur and continued uptill 2003. Subsequently practiced on private side. Dealt with the matters of Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Company, Labour. Was standing counsel for C.B.I. Was also standing counsel for the Public Sector Undertakings - SAIL, NTPC, Banks and also several Private Corporate Bodies. Elevated as Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh on 16th September, 2013.

Born in the family of Mr. Virendra and Mrs. Chameli Agrawal at Ratanpur (Bilaspur) on July 15, 1965. Did schooling at Ratanpur. Became Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws from Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur and Master of Laws from Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. Enrolled as an Advocate on January 3, 1989. Practiced in District and Sessions Court at Bilaspur, High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur and High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur and dealt with various branches of law, especially Civil and Constitution. Was counsel for High Court of Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission, Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agriculture University, Raipur, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Bar Council of India, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Steel Authority of India Limited, State Bank of India, Canara Bank, Dena Bank, Municipal Corporations, Raipur and Bilaspur, many other Corporations, Boards and authorities of Government of Chhattisgarh and renowned corporate groups of India and Chhattisgarh. Elevated as an Additional Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh on September 16, 2013.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice P. Sam Koshy :-

Born on April 30, 1967. Did his bachelors' degree in Commerce from G.S. College, Jabalpur, and Law degree from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur. Enrolled as an Advocate in March 9, 1991.

Practiced on Civil, Constitutional and service & labour matters initially in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur till October, 2000 and subsequently in the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur from November, 2000 till September, 2013.

Was a counsel for various public sectors undertakings, Banks as well as many private institutions like, South East Central Railway, Coal India Limited, South Eastern Coalfields Limited, National Mineral Development Corporation, State Bank of India, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board, Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board etc., etc.

Was Government Advocate at the High Court of Chhattisgarh from 2002 to 2004. Also was Deputy Advocate General in 2005-06. Is also a member of the 'Academic Council' of Hidayatulla National Law University, Raipur.

Appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh on September 16, 2013.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Agrawal :-

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Sanjay Agrawal was born on 21.08.1964 at Bilaspur. His Lordship's father late Shri Shyam Bihari Agrawal was a retired Professor in Zoology Department whereas mother was a housewife. His Lordship's Grandfather was a great prominent and renowned Civil Lawyer. His Lordship's uncle Shri Ravish Chandra Agrawal, Senior Advocate, was an Advocate General for the State of Chhattisgarh and now Advocate General for the State of Madhya Pradesh.

Did schooling and graduation in B.Sc. (Mathematics) at Bilaspur and thereafter prosecuted LL.B. from Kaushalendra Rao Law College, Bilaspur. Employed as Upper Division Teacher from 1986 to 1989. Thereafter, enrolled as an Advocate on 07.09.1989 and started career as such under the guidance of Shri Ravish Chandra Agrawal. Practised law in District Court at Bilaspur from 1989 to January, 1997, High Court of Madhya Pradesh from 1997 till 2000 and before the High court of Chhattisgarh from 2000 till elevation. Dealt with Civil, Criminal and Constitutional, especially specialised in Civil. While practicing law before the High Court, His Lordship was appointed as Government Advocate and continued as such till 2007. Elevated as Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh on 29.09.2016.

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta :-

Hon'ble Shri Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta was born on 14/04/1959 at Rajnandgaon. Completed his Bachelors Degree in Science from Awadhesh Pratap University in first division from Rewa. Further did his L.Lb from Jivaji University with first division. Then continuing legacy of his father late Shri B.S. Gupta, Retired District & Session Judge, he started career in 1985 by joining MP Judiciary as Civil Judge in first attempt.

Past 32 years of his service consisted of working in multiple dimensions that includes Legal Advisor EOW, District & Session Judge, Special Judge, Principal Judge Family Court, Legal Advisor to His Excellency Governor of Chhattisgarh.

He was elevated as an Additional Judge of High Court of Chhattisgarh on 27th June 2017.

Served as the Presiding Officer, State Transport Appellate Tribunal, Raipur, thereafter served as the District and Sessions Judge, Kawardha. Served as the Addtional Registrar (Administration) and the Registrar (Vigilance) and (Inspection & Inquiry) of the High Court of Chhattisgarh. Served as the Registrar General of the High Court of Chhattisgarh before elevation. Elevated and took oath as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh on June 27, 2017.
